What you need

  • Self-drive bike or scooty: your original two-wheeler driving licence, Aadhaar or passport, and a refundable deposit. Helmets for rider and pillion come with it; UP police fine both.
  • Self-drive car: your original car driving licence, Aadhaar or passport, and a refundable deposit. The deposit comes back when the car does, same condition, same fuel.
  • Car with driver: nothing but your dates. The driver's night allowance on multi-day trips is written on the quote, not added later.
  • Fuel, km limit, extra km: all written on the quote. No surprises at drop.

Riding in Braj

  • The lanes round Shriji are narrow and steep. A scooty goes where a car cannot; park the car below the hill.
  • On Laddu Holi, Lathmar Holi and Radha Ashtami the town is closed to vehicles for hours. Plan the circuit around those days.
  • Parikrama roads have walking pilgrims at dawn. Ride slow, horn soft.
  • Petrol pumps are on the Kosi and Govardhan roads, not inside the old town. Fill up before the villages.
