How this rashifal is read
Indian astrology reads the day from your Moon sign (chandra rashi), the sign the Moon was in when you were born. That is why this page asks for your rashi, not your Sun sign.
Each planet helps from some houses counted from your Moon and strains from others. Phaladeepika (chapter 26) lists them: the Moon helps in the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th, Jupiter in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th, Saturn in the 3rd, 6th and 11th, and so on. A planet in the matching vedha house cancels the good result.
When the Moon passes the 8th sign from your own Moon, about two and a half days each month, it is Chandrashtama: a day to go gently. Saturn over the 12th, 1st and 2nd from your Moon is Sade Sati.
